Fifteen parts of a piece of type

A capital D and a figure 2, cast in type metal and drawn at roughly 36 point, standing together as they would in the stick. Turn them in the light, or pick a part and the pair will turn to face you.

Every label belongs to the D. The 2 stands alongside to show how sorts meet: nicks in line, shoulders touching, and a kern, were there one, lying over its neighbour. Proportions here are those of a large display size, where the body is not far short of the height to paper. Set a text size and the same block becomes tall, narrow and much easier to knock over.
