Ainsdale Shipwreck
The Star of Hope — Revealed by the Shifting Sands
Wrecked in 1883 near Ainsdale, the ship’s crew of nine all survived.
This is the Star of Hope — a wreck that regularly appears and disappears beneath the ever-changing sands of the Sefton Coast.
These photographs were taken on 25th January 2009, during one of the rare times the wreck was clearly visible.
